Dosing and Alk testing/usage

Im trying to figure out how to solve my alk swings and dosing without always having to up the dosing daily. Seems like i am needing to up dosage daily and my apex dos soses so many times a day you would think it would be more stable without the alk swings. Im including my dose summary and my Alk/dosing graph.
Maybe someone can advise how to get a steadier Alk reading while also continuously

upping dosage for growth

ALK swings are normal within reason. Do you test at the same time daily.? If not, you will constantly be tweaking the dose because it will appear it’s swinging due to the photo period.


If you are getting good growth, then keep increasing the dose until it levels out. Trust me, it will happen eventually.

I test same time daily. 4 times a day. And to be honest im not seeing much growth at all just seeing the alk needing to be dosed more

What is the volume of the tank? 5.4mLs per day isn't much.
How old is the tank?

We might just be seeing more use during the day, and less at night. We might also just being seeing the +/- 0.3 dKH error of the kit.

Its scheduled apex trident testing every 6 hours 10 gallon tabk maybe like 7 gallons in system. Not much big corals. All frags

At 4 months with significant frags in the tank, regular increasing of dose is pretty normal. What does that 5.4 ml work out to in dkh/day (or what product are you using)?

I am running triton but if this a normal consumption in a 10g tank to drop almost dkh in 12 hours. I feel like i am getting percipitation of the alk
