The quesion is can dosing of Stronium, calcium, and magnesium cause outbreaks of cyanobacteria, with only trace numbers of nitrates and phosphates?

Read alot of interesting articles and the question is a loaded question but directed at those that dose.My phos and nitrates are in line could it be the cause of cyanobacteria?

Randy could you give us some insight in the effects of dosing and cyanobacteria?

Unless you dose something unusual with organic matter (such as calcium acetate) or the additives are contaminated with a source of N or P, or trace elements, they won't boost Cyanobacteria. Cyano has no special needs for calcium , magnesium, or strontium.

It may be boosted by trace elements if those are presently limiting (such as iron).
