dosing and testing for Iodine

i sent a tritontest and my Iodine was 0,00 so i started to dosing and testing but nomather what, my iodine is still 0,00 on Salifert test?
i started to dose aquaforrest but their drops only to the best of my knowledge is for maintaining and existing buffer of iodine so i dosed with salifer Iodine according to their recommendations to get a buffer but still nothing?
-what´s the problem?

Iodine is rapidly depleted, and you may not be adding enough to raise it substantially.

That said, the kit may also not be working as you expect. I'd try the kit on some new salt water, and dose it, if need be, to see a value.

If the kit is working, you can read 0.04 ppm. Either the kit isn't working, or it is being depleted before you tried to test it, or the additive is bad somehow.

FWIW, I'm not convinced iodine dosing is useful and I stopped many years ago, but you can certainly dose enough to detect.

done, and done, i also adde the extra 5 drops of I2-2 even when i didnt see blue colored crystals just in case, still the same relult?

Which additive brand and how much was that supposed to boost iodine in the new salt water? There are multiple forms of I that people dose, and not all kits detect all forms.

Hi. Did u review the instructions for the Salifert Iodine test kit? Not trying to be a wise butt but this kit has two different tests for Iodide or detect iodate and iodine.
I was dosing with brightwell Iodione which is iodide. So when I follow the testing for iodide I do get a reading now. Basically iodine but maybe this helps. I won't go on with all the differences just giving some information for the test
