Dosing b-ionic 2 part

I went a year without checking my alk etc in my heavy coral stocked 36g the past two weeks I had it checked and was super low. 4.4. So yesterday I got b ionic 2 part which is what my lfs recommended and is what they use. He told me for now to dose 2.5ml daily for a bit to slowly raise it.
Anyone else has there alk go this low.

I used the calculator and it was going to take a ton on two-part to get things right. I did weekly water changes until parameters were more in-line with my goals, then started two part after that to maintain.

Some say that dosing to get parameters aligned is less-expensive, but I think it depends on the size of the tank and the cost of the salt. For me with a 65, water changes were the better choice, and I benefitted from all the other positive effects on other parameters as a happy consequence.

You should raise it slowly with alk buffer and then maintain with two part. I've had my tank around that level before and most SPS won't really survive too long/LPS will have trouble growing long-term. Now is good time to check your CA as well if not already
