Hey everyone. I have never had enough coral to worry about dosing other than replenishing nutrients with my water changes. Now my ATS is consuming enough nitrate and phosphate that i don't really need to do water changes very often. I have been using kalkwasser in my auto top off and i have dosed magnesium before, just by testing and hand dosing. I dont know much about what nutrients need to be dosed when going without water changes. What tests do i need to do? Is there any product that i can use to dose all the micronutrients and stuff that i would normally get from a water change? I know they say dont dose anything you're not testing but i feel like it would be a huge investment to test for all the stuff thats in seawater. sorry i have very little understanding of this aspect of reefkeeping as i haven't really had to worry about it till now. I guess im looking for a method in between water changes and full-on buying a ton of expensive dosing or reef control equipment.

i would invest in a nice no3 test kit and a Hanna PO4 test kit as well for your nutrients. That would be a great start!

BRS has a lot of great videos about testing and dosing. Here's a good start:
