Dosing calcium nitrate to feed chaeto tank

Have a tank with just live rock and chaeto. Would it be beneficial to add no3 for growth?

Or sodium nitrate. Also phosphate and trace metals, Chaeto Gro, light and water movement to tumble the algae.

Calcium nitrate is a fine thing to dose. It will raise both alkalinity and calcium over time, as well as providing an N source for the chaeto.

But simply adding fish foods or pod foods may be easiest, even with no fish, as that will provide other needed nutrients.
