I recently had somebody laughing at me for dosing bacteria to lower no3/po4. Since starting my dosing of many different strains and brands of bacteria, liquid carbon dosing, and using a CPR biopellet reactor, I have achieved untraceable levels of no3/po4. I’m pretty proud of myself. Lol. I’m just wondering if anybody else has had success with just dosing carbon and not bacteria.

Another recent change was switching from AI Primes to a 150 watt Metal Halide/XHO Hybrid Reef Brite fixture. Since then, I’ve been able to go a week without scraping my glass. Where, no matter what I did while I ran the two AI Primes, I had to scrape it daily. Not sure to attribute this to cleaner light, or cleaner tank.

You definitely don't need to add any specific bacteria when doing carbon dosing.
The heterotrophic bacteria that any carbon source encourages to grow are found everywhere.
These are not at all the same bacteria as found in tank cycling products.
