I ordered me a couple dosing pumps and equipment to dispense my 2 part alkalinity and calcium. I was also going to order a dosing container but they were sold out. I was at walmart and saw some water containers that looked similar and I felt could do the job. At $5 a piece they are $5 cheaper than the ones I was looking at. Plus they have one more access point to be able to clean out easier. They hold 1.25 gallons

Here is the one I was going to get that was sold out:

Here is what I found and the plan is to have them stand upright like they are in the photo. I did a test to see if they would hold water and of course they do.

I am going to run the tubing down into the dispensing part here:

Got mine at the dollar store for $3 a piece. No need in wasting money on them fancy ones. lol

I just use the 1 gallon jugs that you comes with the BRS kit, I drilled a hole just large enough for the tubing to pass through, then I just switch out one gallon jugs when one is empty. For some reason I have 5 of these jugs so swapping them out is easy.

I too am a WalMart shopper, but I opted for the cereal containers….holds 1 gallon, and the best part is that they have a very wide opening for adding more alk or calc. I love them. About three bucks or so….can’t remember actual cost.

I use one of those for an ATO container on my 20g because it's the only thing that fits between the left side of the stand and the wall! Only difference is I paid twice what you did because mine has a handle and it came from Petsmart marketed as a "dog food air-tight container"

The ones I posted are very space saving! ;)

I tried to use the bigger ones (2.5gal i think) in the vertical and they leaked. Maybe with the 1 gal size there isn't enough head pressure, but watch it for the long haul since there is no seal around the cap like there is around the spigot.

Don't feel to bad Rev, I ended up buying those expensive ones you first posted a pic of because they are the only ones I found at the time that would fit in allotted space. They are high quality rigid containers I must say (to justify $12 ea) easy to refill and shake up to mix ingredients. Thought that I had a pic but guess they're not pretty enough.....lol

Cheers, Todd

Similar solution for my Balling.

I just upgrade to some 3 gallon jugs from usplastic, but I have the space. It is so much nicer, now I just add 1 gallon when it is halfway out, leaving plenty of buffer if life gets busy.

Rev the ones you were going to get were from BRS I know because I was going to buy some and they were out too. Anyway small search and you can find the same containers:

4 Liter Space Saver with Cap | U.S. Plastic Corp.

Walla 5.85 they also sell the clear 1 gallon jugs and the spouts.... my guess this is where brs buys from...

Anyone looking for new 3 head dosers cheap, luke33 from here is selling some very cheap from swc on ebay.. These are new and cheaper than what most used ones sell for...
