I know that I need to keep the copper at a constant amount in the QT to treat ich/velvet. but my question. If I get the dosage up to 2.0 for copper. then how often do I need to check it to make sure it is staying at 2.0? if say I have it at 2.0 before I leave for work come home and test it for the copper level. it reads say 1.5 then I redoes it back to 2.0 will that restart the whole process over again for another 30 days? I guess I'm just confused on the whole process of it. cause theres always a chance that the copper could desolve to unacceptable levels while treating for ich or velvet. while I'm at work or esleep at night.

Unless you do a water change your copper level shouldn't change. To my knowledge copper doesn't evaporate out of the water and unless you have rock or something in the tank that can absorbe the copper, your level should stay consistant. I'm going to tag @Humblefish and @Big G as they're the best when it comes to these types of treatments, perhaps they'll have more info on the subject for you :)

^^^ +1 Exactly this above. Once you reach therapeutic level, and you are doing a water change, make sure to always replace with water that has been dosed to the same copper level as any you take out.

It will rise a little due to evaporation between water changes, nothing else if you don't add water RO water for evaporation loss. Buy the Hannah checker, it is a must have. Don't bother with the test kits, that's a total guessing game
