Question is like the title. I am considering kalkwasser along with trace element supplementation, or ati essentials +. I am completely open to other ideas or suggestions if neither of those options sound ideal.

The tank is 20 gallons. I am still in the stocking phase and don't have any consumption numbers yet, I am just planning ahead.

Kalk may be more trouble than its worth depending on your reasons for wanting to use it, if for the ph boost then it’s probably not worth the hassle for the very slight increase and the effort it would take to get the increase.

The main reason I was looking at it was because I'm not the biggest fan of two part and my tank evaporates a decent amount. My mind could be changed and standard two part, but the main thing I don't like is the salinity drift.

There is a breakpoint in allforreef. Typically, a nano makes it a good choice.

The drift may be less of an issue than those caused by kalk, dosing over 24h to get a balanced ph boost alone would be difficult.

All dosing doesn’t alter salinity in any meaningful way, All for Reef has a negligible if any affect on salinity.

I would take it easy on adding chemicals because you are just into the stocking phase, give it some time and test your parameters.

I dosed esv 2 part and DSR ez trace in my old 20g nano cube.
Has worked well for me in many systems.

I set up a WB20 cube on March 1 for SPS and a few LPS. I don't have a lot of evaporation because it's covered, maybe 6 ounces a day. I'm using KW and it's working great right now. I intend to dose AFR during the day and then use KW at night to sustain pH as it get's populated and demands increase.

KW dosed with a simple pump and run by my Apex based on pH is pretty consistent.

Completely agree just planning ahead

2 part in my 45 gallon system and AFR in my 11 gallons system, both growing acros. I tend to favor AFR for ease of use, but if you are really trying to dial things in I would go two part. If you want a pH boost look into Randy's two part recipes.

Anyone else have experience with esv 2 part on nanos?
