Do you think dosing 2ml weekly of
Lugol's Solution of Iodine 2% into 1500gallon system would be safe start to do?

Depends on what ya got in there. You could pickup a salifert test kit.

I started with 1ml a week in my 75 mixed reef then ended up going to 2ml. It was still a little low but wanted to play it safe.

How long have you been dosing that into your system?

before Lugol's Solution of Iodine 2% I was dosing 5ml triton iodine daily, but it’s kind of expensive so I decided to switch and try something new

I am using fluval iodine just because I had gotten it free. Like 8 months.

Im not a fan of Lugols, but that’s a low dose in 1500 gallons (0.007 ppm) and should be quite safe.

I dose 2ml a month in my 45 gallon display tank

triton recommended to dose their version of iodine 5ml per day. what would be equivalent dose with lugols @Randy Holmes-Farley any idea on that? Thanks!

I don’t know what their product is, and for that matter, wouldn’t take their suggestions as gospel.

Ya it’s hard to figure out about their iodine what concentration in it. Basically they said that I need to dose 5ml per day to match what natural ocean water iodine level would be. I think there is a certain number they go by, I’ll have to look it up on the previous tests what it is.
