I just bought a dosing pump to automate dosing tropic marins all-for-reef, and the thought occurred to me that I won't be shaking up the dosing container before dosing anymore. Does anyone know if the metals (or other things in the solution) settle at the bottom of the bottle over time?

Curious if the pump pulling from the bottom of the reservoir will preferentially pump heavier metals.

Alternatively, if the solution is well mixed, what keeps it that way? Is there something in the mix that helps keep everything homogenous?

Every "true" solution (in contrast to suspension) is homogenous. All-For-Reef is such a "true" solution and does not have to be stirred prior to dosing.

Just to amplify what folks have said, clear solutions do not ever settle under normal gravity. Individual molecules and ions that are dissolved have too much random movement to permit them to rise to the top or fall to the bottom.
