Does kalk really help lower p04 levels in reef tank

I haven't heard that... fwiw I've been dosing kalk for years and I've also had elevated po4 for years

I heard it on YouTube. But don’t remember who said it. But if your levels are elevated I guess who ever it was was wrong

I don't know, there could be some truth to it, I've just never heard it or seen any noticable effects

I don’t think dosing Kalk can help with lower phosphate but I think using Lanthanum Chloride can help.

The theory is that at the elevated PH the Ca will bind with the PO4 and precipitate out.

While this may be theoretically true I have not seen any evidence of this in the wild.
