Dosing Lanthum Chloride Curing rock

Hi Randy,
I've tried looking up your previous responses regarding lanthum chloride. I have about 25lbs of rock that i'm trying to cure in a 15 gal tote. I just picked up seaklear lanthum chloride commercial version and i'm wondering how I should dose this in the filter sock?

How much should I use initially and etc?

I wouldn't dose it in a sock. I'd just dissolve it in fresh water and periodically add it to the curing water. The dose is not important, IMO, in a rock curing scenario. It will likely be in excess.

If you have phosphate measurement capability, you can dose it to keep the phosphate low.

Hi Randy thank you for the response! Should I not worry at all about the precipitate/will they be easily removable through water changes? Much thanks for your time.

I want to be careful to overdo it b/c i dont want it to build up. Would you recommend possibly dosing carbon to remove the overdose at the very end of the curing cycle?

You can just rinse any precipitated solids and remaining dissolved lanthanum off the rock. Carbon won't help with lanthanum, if that's what you mean.

I used the sea clear commercial in my 150. I forget the exact numbers, but Tiger Woods would have been scared to hit a ball off of the turf I was growing. I think I used about 5ml and haven't had a nutrient issue since, but there is some algae growth that my CUC has taken care of. Basically, you won't need to use much

No, lanthanum phosphate will still precipitate. It may even work better in fresh because you won't precipitate as much lanthanum carbonate.
