I have learned that Magnesium is one of those elements that is nearly impossible to test for accurately and precisely and is consumed in very small numbers, which makes consumption rate very hard to determine. But, it also needs to be kept stable. How much magnesium do y’all typically dose in a week?

I can't even tell you the last time I measured mag. BUT, here's my story. I use to test for it years ago and found that I never really needed to add it. The reason is that I do 45% water change per month. So the mag in the new water replenish whatever mag is being consumed.

I hardly ever test for mag either. Plus, Red Sea test kit is by far the most inaccurate and least precise and is a big hassle. I would do this, but I have decided to go down the no water change route so I have to dose it now I guess. I’ll probably dose the equivalent of 5 ppm every week or so but I wanted to see what everyone thought.
