Dosing Magnesium

I have been doing biweekly water changes. Magnesium levels are 1,200. So it’s a little low, aiming for 1,450-1,500. Just got magnesium today. I got Quantum’s argonite C. It’s a 500ml bottle. The online calculator says to get it from 1,200 to 1,500 I need to dose 450ml. Is this one sitting or how often should I dose it? Capful every few hours? My auto dose broke so I’m having to do this by hand. Appreciate any feedback.

Dose enough to raise it about 100 ppm per day. It's not so much about the magnesium but the impurities that may be in it.

So is it safe to say divide 450 by 3 (since I want to raise it 300 ppm) which tells me I need to dose 150ml a day for the next 3 days to get it to 1,500?

That's what I would do. I would does the 150 per day kinda slowly but it's not really necessary.

Red Sea Blue bucket. I have it at 35ppm and it’s 1,280 at that level. I’m due for a water change this weekend.

Changing salt to Quantum mixed reef. Should raise me to 1300ppm magnesium

I’ll dose the 150 this evening because it needs to come up. However I’ll retest tomorrow. This evening I tested 1,200 on the salifert magnesium test, it’s a new test kit also.

I only dosed 70ml last night vs the 150ml, retested this morning and it’s still at 1,200 on the nose.

Thanks for the feedback to everyone. I have Mg up to 1,400, Ca is at 430 and dkh is at 9.1. Been dosing a small amount each day to get it to the desired level. Would still like to see it closer to 1,450-1,500 but looking good.

my sps hate when i dose mag my tank sits at 1280 i would like to get it up to 1350 but after trying it i dont think i will lol
