Dosing manganese

Do you dose manganese?
I bought a bottle yesterday.
I does trace elements which includes manganese but my last icp said 0 manganese.
Advise dosing 1.2ml for 2 days then .2 daily.

I do .84ml a day in 125 gallon tank (110ish gallons with sump) and acro heavy. It calls for .42 ml per day but im in the double that dose category....Depending on your tank size you could apply that as a FWIW/ general idea guide. I use the moonshiners mang

I add .5 ml twice a week as support for my gonipora coral. Indeed trace elements have manganese so i would limit what you add.

I don’t dose it and if it is part of your trace elements I would not add extra.
The way I understand is that Mn can precipitate quite quickly and if it is dosed regularly you likely have enough but the ICP test may not pick it up.

I am going to experiment with a different approach. I ordered Refugite, a pebbly sandy substrate packed with manganese and it supposedly releases it over time steadily. I spoke with members here that have been using it with success and gave positive reviews and researched it a little.I plan to add 5-10 lbs to my sump in a mesh media bag.

Amazon wants 61$ a bag but I got it from saltwateraquarium.com for 34 on sale over the weekend. Sales now over and it’s back to 40$ but still cheaper than Amazon

Since you dose trace elements that contain it, I suspect you have enough.
Here is an explanation why ICP might be zero:

1 ml per day of Randys diy manganese. Has perked up the gonis. I think manganese gets used up quickly by macros, if you are growing any.
