Dosing- Nervous to Start

So, I do want to begin dosing Alk, Calcium etc but I am kinda nervous I am going to do it wrong and wreck my tank.

I have watched the BRS videos but am still somewhat iffy about it. Does anyone recommend some literature on it? I've tried finding some but haven't really come up with anything good. I've only been doing saltwater for about two years now so I just want to make sure I do it right.

I would try manual first before jumping onto the dosing pumps. Just take it slow and try dosing the recommended amount (or 2/3 of what they suggest to not overshoot) of Alk in the morning and Calcium at night for two days. Test and adjust. Once you determine your usage of Alk and Calcium it becomes much easier and you can go a week or so between testing.

If you already know your consumption then most Alk/Calcium bottles can suggest dosing amounts per day which is less of a risk.
