My nitrates are always reading 0, so I dosed Nitrates. My SPS corals are looking good, but some of my Zoanthids have started closing. I checked a few things and found my P04 is now 0 down from .05 reading up on dosing this appears to be normal. My questions is do I need to dose P04 to bring phosphates back up? I would like to use brightwell products I am confused between using reef bio fuel or Neophos to address this.

Also after dosing nitrates for 10 days, nitrates are still reading 0 according to salifert test kit. I have stopped dosing nitrates for the time being.

I’m not a chemist but in my experience if I dose N03 and my P04 is at 0 ...N03 does not rise but If I dose P04 with N03 then both rises proportionally

So you will need to balance both and not just one or the other

Are you using any methods to reduce/export nitrate and phosphate, like a refugium, skimmer, carbon dosing, biopellets, etc.? If so, just cut back on those.

I started dosing DiY nitrate and phosphate. at first it was hard to increase those levels. I have to double the recommended dose and test the following day until I reach my levels.

about 150 gallons water, bare bottom some cheato doesn't grow much, skimmer and filter socks that is it. I only have 8 fish, so my bio load is very low.

going to order some neo phos, the directions brightwell neo nitro a little confusing they also recommend dosing bio fuel i will pick that up as well.
