54g tank volume 200xl

Very small amount of calcification in my tank other than the crazy amount of coralline on my rocks growing. ( not sure if that’s 100% my issue )

I have been dosing 8-10mL of Reefcode B from brightwell day and night.

The reason I began dosing is the random drop to 6dkh . Brought it to 9 over a week and found I needed 5-8mL day and night to keep it there. Tested a week later and was good at 9.2dkh

I tested last night and was at 7dkh!!!! Same dosing if not more !!

I dosed 10mL last night and woke up and it’s 6dkh . How ??? Does my tank seriously consume that much alk and is normal if coralline algae is presently spreading

Yes more.

Less than 10ML per day of 2 part is not a lot.
Also, how about your calcium level?
Without the calcium and magnesium in range it makes alk harder to maintain

I was curious if 10mL was a lot or not already. Bottle recommends 10mL a day but it seems I am dosing 15ml-20ml each day. Just split into day and night. Calcium and mag are in range usually 430 calcium and 1300-1400 for mag

I dose only reefB as I only drop in alkalinity

A bottle cannot make an intelligent dose recommendation because it entirely is based off the tank and it's needs.

You calculate dosing needs by taking a measurement on day 0 and then again 24 hours later.

That said, if you have sand, be sure to check the sand bed. I've had what felt like extreme dosing needs and it was my sand bed calcifying. If your sand is turning into a rock, it will suck alk/ca at a high rate!

How would I know that haha , maybe it is my sand

And I understand the bottle recommendation, I was referring to the point that is it normal to dose a lot more than 15-20mL a day but I guess so

So I got it , let’s fix this dosing issue
