Dosing phosphate? What are you using?

Brightwell Aquatics Magnesion - Liquid Magnesium Worked well for me. However, I recently started using TM All for Reef one step so far parameters spot on.

He is asking about phosphate. :)

I recommend food grade sodium or potassium phosphate from amazon.

Use this calculator and the entry for phosphate from potassium phosphate (with either one):

Here's one:

Thank you as always, Dr.

I ordered this for my 100gal setup currently at ~0 PO4. Just to make sure I understand this, the calculator shows 100 gal w/1 gram of powder added to 50ml H20 will raise PO4 to .04. This seems like a crazy dilution using 1/113th of the bottle's contents.

Can anyone with experience share their technique? Are their guidelines on how quickly to raise phosphates?

Thanks all.

In case it matters:
pH: 8.2
Alk 9.0
Calc 410
Mag 1200
Nitrate 9

Dosing A4Reef daily.

I cannot tell which product you are referring to, but Just to put it in perspective, a 100 gram bottle of anhydrous trisodium phosphate (which contains 58 grams = 58,000 mg of phosphate) can raise a million liters of seawater by 0.06 ppm. So yes, expect very low amounts dosed.

The Loudwolf tridosium phosphate. Thank you for confirming my math.

Yes, your math is correct.

I'd add 0.02 or 0.03 ppm each day for a few days and see if it rises. It may not, and doses may need to be higher.

1/4tsp in 65ml H2O got the ball rolling. Thank you! Learning has occurred.
