Dosing pump for (small) water change

I see some post using dosing pumps for small water changes , will it work or will the pumps die over a short time? has anyone had success doing this?

@ 3785.41 ml hat seams like a long run time.

First off you can break it up over the course of 24x a day. I use one for ato. I would never use a float type setup.
