Dosing pump necessary?

Hey guys! I was wondering if I should get a dosing pump for my 40 breeder. Is it really beneficial? Is it worth the money? I heard it was good if you are going on vacation so you don't have to worry about dosing your tank. Im just wondering if it is worth the purchase. Thanks!

Not until your corals start taking up more alk and calcium then waterchanges can replenish.

Depends how established your tank is. When you have enough coral that your Alk, Cal, and Mag is dropping substantially each day then you dose to keep it up.
