I have a single head stand alone dosing pump for my Aio tank. And I usually see everyone dosing the additives in their sumps. My question is will the pump work properly if the line is running up above the pump! I've added the picture to help explain my situation.

Sure as long as it has enough head pressure and most can pump "up" several feet

Your only issue with long tubing is making sure you have sufficient flow to prevent clogs (sodium bicarbonate or calcium carbonate for example can clog up with time). Also, avoid anything that can be contaminated and stagnate (phytoplankton, other foods).

As such, multiple doses a day and a proper dilution of your dosing solution is the key.

Otherwise, it should work.

I have my pumps in the garage. It is 35ft from the tank. The tubing goes up through the attic and down inside the walls to a wall plate to get to the tank. I have been doing this for 5yrs without an issue. I would make sure the output from the pump is above the water level. That way there is no chance of a siphon. Photo of pumps in the garage below. Three are in use. The other two are spares. I have room for 8 pumps.

Just make sure you leave an air gap between the end of the tube and the water!
