I'm looking for dosing pump that works compatible with the apex. I would like to hear your experiences

You will only be able to turn that particular unit on or off. Neptune makes a DOS unit or you could use the BRS dosers. I just picked up 2 BRS dosers and they work great.

I was looking at the bubble magus t-01.

Their all "compatible" per say, as in they will all plug into their energy bar. just don't think you can apply your own settings threw the apex other than turn on and off and set times on how long you want it on. Bubble magus ones you need to set the amount to be dosed in their main unit and you would not be able to control the individual pumps threw apex.

I use the Neptune DOS and have no issues at all with it. If you pair it with the DDR containers, the Apex keeps track of your fluid levels and can notify you when you are running low.

That's pretty cool

If I hook a doser to the apex, can I just use a slave unit or I need a master unit as well, I would say I need a master because that has the computer inside, correct?

The BRS doses are individual units right? How do you mount them?

Yes they are individual. They have a mounting bracket that you can screw to your stand, then you just slide them on to the mounting bracket.

Do you use the calcium and alkalinity additive from BRS. If so how is it do you like it?

This is also correct, you do need a master unit to use the slave units if you decide to go this route.

The bubbe magnus t-01 (3 head) is a stand alone doser. It doesn't use a controller. The slave unit (4 head), plugs into the master unit and is controlled from it.
The brs peristaltic dosing pumps have no "intelligence" of their own. You would plug them into an apex controlled outlet, and program the apex to run the pump (s).

I use both. I dose carbon, magnesium and nitrates with my bubble magnus. I run my kalk, ato, and awc with brs dosing pumps.
I don't think the brs dosing pumps are "space savers" compared to the bubble magnus. 3 brs pumps would eat more space than a bm master unit. (The pumps on the bm are about the size of a silver dollar. The brs pumps are about 5" high, 4" wide and mebbe 4" deep...each).

I should add the criteria used for buying each type, for me, was volume and head. Carbon I dose about 4 ml per day, mag about 12 ml per day, nitrates 2ml per day. Jugs are beside the sump, bm on shelf above sump.
Kalk, 50ml per hour, ato about the same, awc 1000ml day. Much more volume, plus they sit in the basement and pump up to the main floor.
Both have their merits.
