hello everyone I've been looking at dosing pump for a little bit now and I was wondering what you all used, why you use it, how hard are they to use, and I don't really want to spend like $300 because I'm only going to be using it for calcium and alkalinity. I have been looking at the jebao dosing pump dp-2 which only has two pumps but I don't really know anything about dosers.

I have used the bubble magus and the jebao dp4. The bubble magus is by far the easiest to program but it has failed me twice in the past 6 months. But before that it was rock solid.

The jebao takes a little more to program and each pump needs to be calibrated. I can't speak for longevity since I only used to on my frag system for about 6 months before switching to a kalk reactor. But for the price I think it's a good pump.

I also use the jebao dp4 and got everything I need including the pumps, acrylic shelf, tube holders, and 3 section liquid container for about $130. I have had it for 6 months and no issues so far. Yes, you have to calibrate it, but it's easy. I also thought programming was fairly simple. It will save the settings if powered off too in an outage or if you need to unplug it for anything. My tank has remained very stable and doing just fine.

do you use check valve to avoid back siphon pr leak back to the container (i.e emptying the line when the pump is off?
Do you need check valve or I just overthinking this?
Thanks

I also have the jebao dp4 rock solid so far when it stop I see no back pressure or leaking back into container so I dunno about a check valve mine does not have one fwiw

The only one I had to put a check valve on is the mag doser. I think over time (mag doses once a week at 5ml for me) it creates some draw back, but my alk and Ca stay filled to the end of the tubes when doing multiple doses a day.
