Hey everyone,

I am looking for a reliable dosing pump for small amount ( around 1 ml per dosing )

Does anyonehas suggestions on a reliable and not too expensive? It will be used to dose my 20g sps and also my mixed reef 55g.

Maybe a diy one that could be used with my reefkeeper

Thank you

For a cheap dependable one you can use BRS dosing pumps or a bubble magus dosing pump. They are dependable and you can find used ones easily.

Thank you for the reply. I looked at the BRS but it is out of my price range. Specially that I would need two for 2 part dosing.

The bubble magus is too expensive as well for my need.

So far, I mostly need to dose my 20 g which need around 5 ml per day of 2 part.

Are the jebao reliable? There is a lot of threads stating pros and cons but it is hard to know if they are just a waste of money.

Maybe a diy type would work? Something that my reefkeeper can control without too much programming

I am not try to be cheap but my needs are really small

Jebao are good but you know they are cheap so the downside is dependability. They can stop working or loose calibration faster than others but I know they work well too. If you are not away and dont want to spend alot then you can hand dose it. Also, I dont think if you do diy you will save a lot of money.

The other option of doser is probably the most finicky but the cheapest. toms aqualifter pumps are like 15 bucks a piece and with needle valves and timers they can be automated.

I've done this before and it works ok. the biggest problem is getting them calibrated.

I thought about it. I know they are quite reliable as I have one on my overflow for years.

Calibrating it may be reallyhard though. They pump quite a lot and fast for a small pump but maybe worth a try.

That s what I am afraid. Reliability and cheap don't go together. Lol but expensive equipment may be a bit much.

I am not against dosing manually but I got a tendency to forget things.

Do you have a reliable auto top off? kalkwasser might be a good option if you do. It's cheap and it utilizes equipment you already have.

Cheapest route is to manually dose or drip Kalk from a water bottle. I personally will not ever buy another jebao product. The one and only I bought lasted 3 months. It's the only product I've every owned that worked out of the box and failed in such a short period of time. $100 for three months of service did not save me any money.

No I don't have a reliable ATO. I used kalkwasser before but I was always getting crazy ph swing. Probably due to dripping it to fast
