Dosing pump

Hello i bought a coral dosing pump but i missplace the check valve , do i need them or i can run it with out it

It just stops back flow and keeps the solution in the tubing. If it flows back and the fluid goes back in to it's original container, when the doser turns on it wont be dosing what it thinks it is because it is pushing air through the tubing.

Ohh okay thank im gonna order some today
