hey I thought added a dosing pump before adding coral to my tank is that a good idea ?? or wait until after you get your coral Establish? Is it worth the money?

I would wait till u know how heavy your tank is going to be loaded with corals. Initially, water changes will suffice for softies and lightly stock LPS tanks. I would test and when water changes can't keep up with the consumption of ALK and Cal then I would add a doser.

When water changes didn't keep up I started with Kalk in my ATO, then when that didn't keep up, or I felt that I was having to add to much Kalk, then I added a DOS.

I would definitely wait until the tank and corals are established. How old and how big is your tank? It also depends on what type of corals you are adding. Softies and LPS don't use much Alk, Calc, etc... Water changes should be sufficient initially. Just keep an eye on your parameters.

I have a 90 gallon tank and it’s been establish for 2 months. I have been doing water 20 percent water changes every week until I added my sump tank last week.

When your coraline algae really takes off, it will deplete your Alk and Calc to a certain degree. When I started adding corals to my 125, I manually dosed BRS two part according to the BRS calculator until it got to be too much. Then added a Bubble Magus BM-T01 Doser. It has worked for me so far.
