I have a reef-pi with dosers built according to this guide: https://learn.adafruit.com/reef-pi-guide-5-dosing-controller

They recently started getting stuck on all the time. When I have the 'PumpX-A' or PumpX-B' equipment in the on state (see the guide in the link), the dosing pump will run nonstop. This even happens if the corresponding Pump device in the Dosers tab is in the off state. This problem started suddenly and without obvious cause. The only thing I did around the time it started was updating my reef pi version (went from v3.5 or v4.0 to v5.2), but I'm not certain this is the cause. The problem persists even if I roll back to v3.5 and v4.0.

I'm very confused, any help is appreciated.

sorry for your trouble. are you using the pca9685 driver for pwm? we have seen an issue with this driver where that could lead to this. i would recommend using a timer instead or stepper based dosing system till we sort out the pca9685 driver issue

yes, I'm using pca9685. The timer is a good idea, I'll try that for now since I'm going out of town and need to maintain automatic dosing. I'll keep an eye out for the fix, thanks!

Just an update, today I was messing around and I removed and re-added my dosing pumps in the Dosers tab. Now they won't turn on at all, not even using the Equipment tab outlets. I tried using Calibrate for each pump too, doesn't work.

Quick edit to last post for anyone reading in the future. The fact that changing the outlets in the Equipment tab didn't turn on/off the pumps is expected, since they control direction of flow. So somehow the bug where the pumps were running nonstop went away. The fact the the Calibrate feature wasn't working is a known issue in v5.2, which I found out after posting above.

I rolled back to v5.1 and everything is working now.
