Dosing pumps with no controller

So what is the best way to use regular outlet timers for 2 part dosing? I have 2 1.1ml BRS dosing pumps, and have read that these are made for dosing in increments of time and not all at once. I dont know what will make the dosers last longer. Running them for an hour at a time, or breaking it up, and it having it turn on and off all the time.

Also, if its cool to run them for an say 50 minutes, then an analog timer will be fine, but breaking the time up, the ones I have, only do them in 30 min. increments. Are there any 10 min. increment timers out there?

Get a digital timer. U can run it for 1 minute if u wanted to.

But can you break it up, multiple times in one day on a digital timer? I thought you could do it for whatever amount of minutes you program itfor to turn on and then off, but only once a day.

Tagging along. The issue I have with digital timers is if there is a power outage and you're not home and your battery backup doesn't last long enough. Then the timer turns off and is messed up when the power comes back on and it possibly doses too much into the tank.

I would just get a controller at that point, they are essential to keeping a stable reef tank IME, especially with dosing pumps.

Dont think that I dont want one. Just looking for a solution without spending the cash that I dont have right now. I am trying to find a Apex lite for cheap.

Or look for the marine magic dosers on ebay that work great and have a built in controller.

Yes u can break it up. However many minutes u want it per hour. You set start and stop time. Like 2:01 to 2:03. Then 4:01 to 4:03. Up to like 15 times a day. Possibly more.

Nothing with it worked. Would of had to replace too much on it. Plus I want something that i can access thru my phone.
