Just curious, is there a time after starting a new tank that is too early to start dosing something like all for reef, kalk or two part? This would be in tandem with regular water changes and maintenance.

Testing dictates need for dosing. If water changes aren't keeping up, dosing is required.

Gotcha I'm currently only testing alk and doing often small water changes but my alk was 6.8 yesterday with a Hanna checker

Will likely test over the next week or so and make a decision then thanks

It will depend if you have coral and how much they are consuming. With your typical starter coral and many LPS, there is low consumption. Once stony/SPS

I am mainly lps currently but would like to towards mixed sps in the future. Plus as bad as it is I just like gear and trying new things with reefing while trying to keep it simple
