I have a gallon of esv liquid carbonate but can't find any info online calculators for using this everything is esv part b. Is there a difference can someone point me to a dosing calc for this product.

Thanks Dan

ESV B-Ionic comp-1 is dosing ALk. According to instructions/infos it uses about 148 g of soda ash (Na2CO3) mixed up 1 Liter stock solution
ESV B-Ionic comp-2 is dosing Ca. According to instructions/infos it uses about 222 g of CaCl2 x2H2= mixed up 1 Liter stock solution

If you want to make it easier for, you can use AquaCalculator. ESV (and much more) recipees data are built in for convenient caluclation of your dosing.

If ypu tell me your water volume in can also tell you how much you dose in order ro get a certain raise of Ca/Alk levels

Thanks my total volume is approximately 190 gal. My alk evaporation is approx .6 per day. Calcium is steady at 420 what would I need to dose daily to maintain alk at 8.3

No one can tell you what it takes to maintain a specific level. That depends on the demand in your tank and can best be determined by trial and error. You will likely need to dose both calcium and alkalinity.

What is the alkalinity right now?

Current it is 7.7 a just dosed 2tsp of baking soda to raise to 8.3 last night. By the time I get home 8:00 it will have dropped to 7.7 again. I lose about .6 per pay.

That range seems fine to me, but if you want it to average higher, dose more, and maybe split the dose and dose twice per day. :)

So in order to use a dosing pump and ESV liquid carbonate I would need to know the dosage to keep the levels stable (.6 usage of Alk per day) at 8.3.

I have not seen a dosing calculator for EVS liquid carbonate.

Here's a calculator, but such calculators can ONLY determine a particular boost dose, not a maintenance dose:

see the calculated dosing for ESV 2-part for your water volume and +0,6 dKH Alkalinity

Hello Randy, in general you're absolutely right.

What "calculators can do" is helping us reefers "determining their own tanks consumption".
The attached screenshot is a recent idea that i've programmed based on lots of Forum users asking the same questions over and over.

Of course and as always .... your suggestions are highly appreciated !

Thanks all for the help much appreciated. I will see how this dosing works and adjust as needed
