When I have my 120 running, I would like to start dosing a few things. Mainly fuel by aquavitro and koralcolor by brightwell.
Most corals will be LPS, mainly fungias and euphyllias. I'd also like to try my hand at SPS but I'd only do a birdsnest or 2 to start with.
Has anyone had much experience with either product they could share?
I haven't read a huge amount on them yet, but it seems as though I can start and stop whenever I like, or atleast when I feel the tank can go without. It's not like dosing calcium or something that has to be done regularly and consistently.
Thanks :)

Hey there! :)

Let me ask you first why you want to dose? Are you calcium, alkalinity, magnesium levels low?

Hi rev!
I'm looking at dosing the fuel because my LFS starting dosing it a few months ago in a display and it's exploded with growth and colour. Everything's looking really good compared to before dosing fuel.
The Koralcolor was more of a second thought after the fuel I saw on his shelves, but I've some pics of tanks that use it and the result seem pretty impressive. And it's not too badly priced, which is a big factor or me.
From what I've read I can simply measure out the dosage and ad it to the tank and let it do it's thing because it's not like dosing, say calcium where you need perfect measurements and consistant dosing equipment. It's more like feeding corals a liquid food. Although I may have that completely wrong lol.
I don't have the tank running yet, so I don't have cal, alk or mag readings, but I won't be stocking the tank with too many corals, so with regular water changes I'm hoping to keep things pretty stable.

There are other things that will help or hurt growth a lot more than dosing fuel. I am assuming it is some type of nutrient. Proper light flow and water quality will be much more important than fuel will be. I am a fan of amino Acids. I don't currently use them but I have in the past. It is really hard to tell if results are due to the dosing or to proper husbandry.

According to the seachem website "fuelâ„¢ is a comprehensive carbohydrate, vitamin, amino acid, polyunsaturated fatty acid, and trace element supplement".
I won't slack on husbandry regardless of what I dose. I've been a bit slack on my current reef and can really tell the difference. I'm heaps disappointed in it, so I won't let that happen again :)
