Hi all, new here and new to reefing! Advice needed please. I will soon be setting up my replacement tank which is a Red Sea Max Nano this will be my only tank as space is limited. I will be dosing with a dosing pump, my question(s) is, what do you use for dosing containers? They seem to be quite expensive for what they are, secondly do you use inline non-return or check valves to maintain dosing accuracy. Thank you in advance. Gooders

Nano tank really doesn't need dosing per se if you do weekly water changes.

anything with a lid really, you can just drill a hole in the lid, I've used jars, plastic bottles, I've bought a few cheap bottles from the dollar store... etc

I like PETG square sterile bottles for dosing containers.

I also have a few Nalgene space saver rectangular bottles, but those got too hard to find.

I use BRS jugs and drill a hole in the lid for the tubing and another hole at the top of the jug to keep a suction from building up inside.

I'm also in the process of setting up a doser. I found some VOSS glass bottles at my grocery store, they're cheap and clean looking, lots of DIY on this.

good deal. i haven't seen the VOSS glass bottles locally in over a year here. Was it one of the big chain grocers?

NM just noticed you are in spain.

It was at a farmers market I forgot the name of it. I agree they were hard to find, everywhere I looked only had the plastic version. I am actually in California.

VOSS water is not common here across the pond...but if my memory serves me, they are quite small??

What dosing pump do you have? I have the Red Sea Reefdose and use their product bottles. Their bottles are made to fit the tubes.

BRS 1.1ml/min dosers are a affordable option. They work fine for me. But make sure you measure exactly what the output is before you use them. It’s never been 1.1ml IME.

I will be using a TMC EasiDose3, found a nice one second hand, I'll just have to calibrate it carefully as the dosing will be quite small amounts over the day.
