does anyone know if there is a rule of thumb for dosing CAL/ALK as far as tank size=20ml's to start till target reached
mixed feelings on it first time dosing with a dosing pump 2 part A&B thanks ANT

The best I can say is separate your dosing by at least 30 minutes. Not knowing your brand of product or what your Alk, Ca amd Mg are

its ESV 2part ca/alk so is mag turned doser off being i got [email protected] ca 470 and mag @1500 was doesing 6mls a day for ca/alk and 2ml's of mag

The rule of thumb should be on the bottle you are using. When I started bionic I started with the minimum dose.

So I have a 125g tank alk dropped to 6kh
Min dose for that many gallons is 30ml of bionic.
I dosed and checked next day kh was 6.5 so I dosed 30ml again.
Checked next day kh was 7kh
Continued this until I achieved 8dkh. Then I stopped dosing and checked every day. To watch it get used. So my tank now only needs about 30ml a week to keep up with demand on kh being used.

What is your water volume of the system? Volume meaning total water minus sand and rock, including filteration.

3 ml on the ca/alk and 1 on the mg. if you Mg is still to high I would dose the Mg every other day.

For what it's worth. I only have to dose alk. My mag and cal stay consistent with water changes.

Real Advice = Never Dose More Than 1 dkh (Alk a day), Never Dose More Than 20ppm Cal a day
