Dosing schedule

It's best to do small amounts over a 24 hour schedule but you have to make sure there is enough time between alk and cal doses. Not sure why mag dosing is needed. Water changes cover mag and maybe a small hand dose once every week or two.

I dose mine throughout the whole day, but I do dose more during the times when the lights are on. Generally the demand will be highest when your lights are at their brightest.
Are you going to manually dose or setup a pump?
I have a Red Sea dosing pump

Hey reefers what is the best time to start you’re dosing for alk, mag and cal? Through out the day?
Mainly during lights on, but some you can dose for a couple of hours after lights off, as the coral do not slow consumption for a few hours. Dont forget to have at least 15 mins between Alk and Ca dosing.

Calcium hardly changes in 24 hours and so it doesn't much matter when or how frequent you dose it.

Magnesium hardly changes in a week or more, and so infrequent dosing of it (if needed) is fine.

Alk changes a lot day to day and is mostly used during the day.

Some folks dose high pH alk additives during the night to keep pH up, and others dose it during the day to keep alk more stable.

Thanks Randy. Using your recipe 1 in conjunction with Reef Anabolics (Australian brand) trace elements

Jumping in this late, but was thinking of dosing small amounts of alk and cal alternate hours 12 times a day each. Anyone try that method?
