Dosing Silica and Testing

I am going to start dosing silica this week when everything arrives. I ordered SpongeExcel as well as Waterglass. My calculations show that dosing 7.5ml of SpongeExcel or .20ml of waterglass into my 20 gallon AIO with what I am guessing has about 15 gallons should get me in the ballpark of 2.0ppm which is what is recomended to battle the SCA dinos I am dealing with. I am always worried about dosing without being able to measure so I picked up the Hanna low range silica tester HI705.

Does anyone have any experience with this checker? I have read that the high range meter tests for SI02 and that the low range would measure SI which is what I am going after correct?

The HI705 manual seems to say it reads as ppm SiO2.

Targeting 2 ppm SiO2 is a good plan, IMO.
