So I just made soda ash from baking soda for the first time. It’s my first time dosing anything in my tank. I’m trying to get my alkalinity up it’s currently at 5.6dkh. Does anyone have suggestions on how much I should dose? I have a 20gal tank.

In 20 gallons, it will take about 2.7 grams or 0.5 teaspoons to raise dKH from 5.6 to 7.5. I would dissolve in some top off water, and split it up over a few days.

Google reef calculator, and find one that you like.

For a tank that size I’d just skip the soda ash and look into the Tropic Marin All for Reef. Super simple and effective.
