With a mixed reef 100 gallon tank, is dosing essential when doing 15% weekly water changes (Reef Crystals)? Won't the new water supply adequate chemistry. If not, what, in addition to kalkwasser, should be dosed?

That is a loaded question, depends on your stocking levels. I do 10% on AWC and it can nowhere close keep up with the demand from SPS.
Only dose what you can test, I also do ICP test for any corrections required.

What is your alk demand over 24 hours?

Depends on how much of what is in the saltwater used for the water change and how much everything is being consumed.

The answer to your question lies in testing. Test what you should dose for and dose accordingly. As corals grow, the demand for alk and elements increases. You can get away with just water changes depending on what you keep in your tank. Softies will do well. LPS maybe. SPS will definitely need dosing.

I'm ashamed to admit that I don't track it as closely as I should. But my corals (maybe a dozen) are all still frag-sized, so I suspect their demand is negligible. I'm mainly concerned with the calcium/alk balance.
