I am using the dosing amounts recommended on the containers for Comp 123. I understand the importance of equal dosing and ionic balance. My Triton test came back today indicating that some of my test kits are not exactly accurate and some are very accurate (Red Sea not so much, Hanna within 3%). My Alk, which is not tested for by ICP is 9.9 based on my Hanna Checker. My CA is 390 from ICP but showing as 480+ on my Red Sea Pro kit (brand new), and my Mg is 1270 ICP vs 1236 Hanna (for the record RS Pro has it at 1500+ consistently). Is it ok to adjust the dosing amounts to decrease the Alk down to 8.0 where I would like it and increase the CA and MG up to 440 and 1350 respectively without causing an ionic imbalance? Also, my iodine is low (22 ICP vs optimal range of 30-90). Is iodine being added in any of the components or should this be dosed for separately?

Dosage Component 1+2+3+ needs to be adjusted according to the consumption of macro-nutrients, and based on critical water parameters like Calcium, Magnesium and KH. If one or two parameters are still not balanced- we recommend to continue with administering equal doses of each component, and take advantage of one of our additives (Calcium, Magnesium, KH Buffer) to restore desired level(s).
