So I was thinking about getting a Apex to do small water changes daily about 1gl on a 40g cube. So I was thinking if I’m doing a small water change daily would I need to dose Ca Alk Mg? Would the small daily water changes keep the leaves in check? My tank is only running fish LPS and mushrooms. So my usage for Ca Alk and Mg is so low that I don’t even dose daily, it’s much closer to once every 3 days.
Is anyone doing this? Is it working? Truthfully I hate doing that math to get the right amount of additives to balance the tank currently.

Thanks Reefs for your input.

If you’re not keeping sps, bi weekly 20% is sufficient enough without dosing. Some like myself even go with once a month water change. I am planning on doing about 15% water weekly and dose 3 spoons of kalk per 5g bucket for ato. I got about 10 sps corals.

On low nutrient required systems.... LIGHTING is e v e r y t h I n g.

Makes sure all lighting is nailing the 420-460nm wavelengths.

I would suggest to test, a based on consumption, dose.

I was doing a daily water change and still dosed based on consumption.
