Dosing your tank while the lights are off

Howdy everyone! Just wanted some thoughts, input, and advice as to whether or not dosing your tank with chemicals while the lights are off is beneficial or does it have a negative effect? Thanks everybody and happy reefing!

as of right now just ALK and CA. i have B-ionic 2 part buffer

my other question is if the tank is small enough and you are consistent on your water changes do you even need to dose?

Depends on the demand, the better question would be what makes you think you have to dose? Are your levels falling without dosing?

negative .. my levels are fine and steady as of right now but i recently added new corals and inverts that will use these elements and i want to be able to maintain them and allow for my corals to grow.

hey MJ, Sure You can use water changes if the salt mix your using matches your desired levels & kept up.

Some corals use more than others. Keep an eye on it but you should be good with water changes unless you added some big SPS colonies all at once.
