Well I want to keep my tank at the right levels for the corals and am thinking of starting to dose. Parameters are as follows salt at 1.024 ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, ph 8.2, mag 1500, alk 8.7, cal 475. And for the last 3 I'm still trying to get the hang of the testing so my numbers might be off from time to time. I'll be testing every other day to see if I can keep the results consistent. Tank is a 60g with about 15g sump. Right now I have a mix of lps, zoa, some softies, and a few sps. Everything is doing great and growing great. So question really is should I really dose? Btw I do a 10g water change every other week. I am looking at buying the two part from brs. I watch their video on YouTube on how to do it. Seems fairly easy to do. But what's getting me is keeping the numbers consistent. Would I have to dose different after a water change? Am I making a bigger deal out of this then I should? It's kinda confusing me in a way. Thanks

Check you calcium and alkinity and if they remain fairly stable over the gap in between water changes then you might not need to dose. I'm setting up a 60 gallon and once I get a lot of corals I'm going to get the dosing pumps.

But as I put more coral in and the coral gets bigger won't I have to dose anyway? Cause the coral will consume more of these elements?

Yes you are correct. But if you don't need to does now don't. Later you will and then the BRS pumps would be helpful! :) that's what I'm planning in running once I get Lot if corals and need to dose.

Sounds like your water changes are keeping up for now. As your corals grow and you add more you may need to start a dosing regiment. If you start dosing with a dosing pump it will enable you to dose small amounts each day so that your parameters will stay stable.

Check your levels and wait a week and then check levels again. From those two reading you are able to determine what your tanks daily consumption rate. Then you can adjust you daily dosing level to maintain the desired level.
As your corals grow you can periodically check your levels and make the appropriate modifications.
