hi guys im new to reef tanks and herd someone talk about dosing their sump with a dosing pump so i googled it and found diffrent products and reef chemicals. my question is what other chemicals could one dose to help fish/ reef aquariums. i learned about calcium and alkalinity for reefs and flatworm killer. is there really anything else that one could benefit from?

When you are first starting out, your saltwater mix should provide everything your tanks needs for a while.
Once your tank is established, and you determine your corals are using more calcium/alk/mag then your salt mix
can provide, then you can think about dosing. Meanwhile you have lots of other things to keep you
occupied in this hobby...lol Remember nothing good happens fast in a reef tank!

Good luck!

You should dose based on your tank's demands. Regular testing will tell you what to dose. Typically it's Ca, Alk, and Mg.

Not until your tank starts using more Alk and Calcium than you can replace through water changes only.
