Once it gets to 20ml or so a day I like to use a doser to spread it out throughout the day to avoid pH spikes.

Took me 4yrs of manual dosing before I broke down and bought a doser. Hard headed or what?! [emoji38]

Just dosing a particular thing say "every other day" without testing is playing with fire. You should test twice daily for a week to get an understanding of what you're tank is actually using. Small amounts can easily be kept up with by hand, but there comes a time when, unless you're home all day, that hand dosing can't keep up, but in any set of circumstances, a dosing pump is like freedom. I use brs 2 part and mag, just because its cheap, and I'm poor. It gets the job done.

Monitor alkalinity to determine when you need to begin dosing, and then how much is needed.

Yeah my ph drops from 8.4 to like 8.2 on and off
