what should be doses in a reef tank to keep water parapets in check?

How often?

Parameters should be kept as stable as possible, and dosing should be done daily , some even multiple times a day to keep them more stable but every tank is different and you should adjust to your tank personality.

you dose only if you need to dose. and never dose anything you can't test for. I have a 120 gal. softie/lps reef and I don't dose anything. regular wc's are often enough. a sps tank will probably need dosing.

While often good advice, some things can be useful additives that you will not be able to detect with a measurement. Iron, for example. :)

As above. Don't dose just to dose, just dose what you need when you need it and can test for it.
