i currently dose 5 ml of a and b daily. Along with 5 ml of magnesium. My demands are obviously low on my 42g mixed reef that’s lightly stocked. I do a 4 gallon water change weekly. Would it be a stretch to just amp up my WC every week and do away with dosing? I would obviously have to step up on my testing. Thanks guys

Yes. That’s fine.
Kalk in the ato May be a good voice as well and you may not need to increase wc.

Ok. I’ve never really considered it. My parameters dipped about 6 months ago after about 3 years of doing the same routine before I started dosing. Seems silly only doing that much. My alk I think only drops about .1 dkh a day and I don’t have any sps other than one monti cap. I have some finicky torches but outside that I don’t have anything sensitive

So I did a 10 gallon WC after doing exclusively 4 gallon WC for 3 years. I noticed my most finicky torch perk up and send out sweepers within a few hours. Also my favia puff up and is currently still after a few days. Also some discosoma mushrooms looked happier. Is it related to the up in WC? Could be. I’m not currently testing and will resume to be lazy until I see something negative lol.

Set up my first ato. I just told on myself on a old thread. I didn't understand that if you have the ato higher than the sump that it would siphon . Well, I looked over the fact. Mean while it drained my ato and I realized after checking the salinity it was around 1.024 even after dumping 3 gallons RO into the roughly 45 gallons total water. I don't know the math but I thought I was at 35ppt but it seems 3 gallons would of plummeted the salinity even more.
So that scared me and I finally purchased a refractometer even though I have always trusted my hydrometer.
My heater also stuck on and brought my tank up to 82 which is about 4 degrees higher than usual. I put a small temporary heater in it but checked this morning before I went to work and saw I was at 76.1. I hope my tank doesn't hate me.
I'm typically a learn from my mistakes variety rather than considering the warnings and experience of others
