Whats up guys I’m going to start dosing next week hopefully what’s the best 3 part dosing you guys recommend ? System is 9 months old and want to make it into a sps dominant

I just started with the BRS 2 part kit. Go ahead and plan on some sort of dosing pump for ease of use and more precise dosing.

How much of a load do you have as far as corals and usage. Most people start of with Kalk as it will meet most reefers needs.

This is my tamo a days after water change 9 days after levels are at
Alkalinity -6.5
Calcium -380
Mag- 1420

You should also test the levels of your freshly mixed salt water to get a better idea how much of a drop you are getting in your levels

So you went from 7.8 to 6.5 alk in 9 days? If so then I would think Kalk would work for you. Its simple and will also raise your PH, depending on what it is, thus promoting growth in the corals.

Is Kalk better then 2 part ?

Not really better or worse, just simpler. Most people may start with Kalk because its simple, it doses alk and cal for the most part one for one. Its as simple as either adding it to your ATO if your have one, and if not then dripping it into your tank over the day. I got away from it for 2 reasons, I got tired of having to clean my ATO tank every 2 weeks and it was raising my PH to high for the amount I was dosing causing precipitation. I wanted more control over dosing, so I went with a Apex system and a DOS. Kalk is a great first step to dosing and usually meets most reefers needs.

IMO you should just begin dosing a 2 part and skip the kalkwasser entirely. Start off with something simple and commonly used, BRS has an excellent 2 part product they sell and it has great reviews. I myself dose equal parts of ESV Bionic manually 2x a day. MarineDepot and BRS both have calculators on their websites that can give you an exact dosage to reach your desired levels, which by looking at your results should be around

Alk: 8dkh
Calcium: 420ppm
Magnesium: >= 3x Calcium (I think most 2 part systems have the magnesium and the calcium in the same bottle/mix, but I'm probably wrong)

I prefer the ESV just because I get the 64oz container which is premixed and I can just start using it right way and when I add a dosing pump to my system I can just modify the cap and just screw on a new bottle when I need to refill.

I would skip kalkwasser as well. I dose using Randys Recipe and it has been working wonderfully. Kalkwasser was raising my pH way to high.

Fauna Marin Balling Lite works wonders, cheaper than AF, mineral salts added to prevent imbalances and other elements in an all in one solution

How high? i keep my ph 8.4/8.5 and controllers cuts kalk at 8.6, great calcification rate on my SPS

Around 8.4/8.5 lol. I shouldnt have said way to high, just higher than I would like. I dont have a controller so sitting around 8.5 just made me uncomfortable. I like being around 8.2.
