Hi all
I’m looking for some help here please. I’ve had nitrates high for ages and have always dosed pro bio s. 2 weeks ago I started to also dose no pro as aquaforest say they should be used together. My Nitrates are at less than 2.5 and phosphorus is 48ppb so 0.048 ppm. Is that good?
Now I keep getting bright green algae on the rocks and what almost looks like white fluff on the underside of some rock. I’m dosing aquaforest 1,2,3 and use aquaforest pro biotic salt at water changes. Nothing is poorly and not had a loss for months. But nothing is really flourishing either. Am I running a LNS? Should I be? Should I stop dosing? God knows. I also run a refugium, JBL bio balls and rowaphos in a reactor. I guess this is where I get told I don’t know what I’m doing. Lol
Thanks all

Nitrates are in a good spot.

To convert ppb phosphorus to ppm phosphate, I believe it's the phosphorus reading x 3 ÷ 1000. So your phosphate is somewhere around 0.14 ppm, which is still high.

I can't help you with whatever that is you're dosing, so someone else will have to help you there.

Oh right ok. Well they have gone up bit by bit so ordered some more rowaphos as that gets them down a treat in my tank. Do I need to be aiming for 10ppb then or less? Maybe it’s simply that which is causing the algae.
